Installation
CenturyPVC™ products can be easily installed using standard woodworking equipment.
For power miter and chop saws, carbide tooth blades are recommended. Do not use fine tooth metal cutting blades. To maintain a smooth cut, support the product across the entire width or length of the piece to be cut. Seal all edge and end cuts.
Scarf joints - 45 degree angle - are recommended for end to end trim board and siding installation. Use PVC cement/glue/adhesive on one scarf jointed piece. Two nails/screws on each trim board piece - (1 x 4 and 1 x 6). Three nails/screws on each trim board piece (1 x 8 and wider). For blind nailing bevel siding, in addition to nailing every stud spacing, use two nails/screws on each end of each piece on each side of the joint. Ring shank Stainless Steel or Hot-Dipped Galvanized nails or screws are recommended. Minimum length 1 1/4”. Nail gun fasteners should first be tested and adjusted for penetration depth.
Painting
All CenturyPVC™ products can be painted. Use light colors with a Light Reflective Value (LRV) 55 or greater and use 100% Acrylic Latex paints.
